On February 26, 2025, the New York State Department of Health posted the updated financial eligibility criteria for Medicaid applicants and recipients effective for all new and pending applications.

Income Limit for Community Medicaid

The monthly income limit for a single (not married) Community Medicaid applicant increased from $1,732 in 2024, to $1,800 in 2025.  The monthly income limit for a married couple increased from $2,351 in 2024, to $2,433 in 2025.

Resource Limit for Community Medicaid

The resource limit has also changed for both single and married applicants.  For a single applicant the resource limit increased from $31,175 in 2024 to $32,396 in 2025, and for a married couple the resource limit increased from $42,312 in 2024 to $43,781 in 2025.

Minimum Monthly Maintenance Needs Allowance

The community spouse Minimum Monthly Maintenance Needs Allowance increased from $3,853.50 to $3,948 in 2025.

Home Equity Limit

The home equity limit for which the primary residence of the applicant would be an exempt asset for Medicaid coverage of nursing facility services and community-based long-term care is $1,097,000 in 2025.
