We at Futterman Lanza LLP are proud to announce that our co-founder and partner, Aaron Futterman, Esq., CPA recently won a pair of awards in honor of his years of service to the Long Island community. The first honor was being named a Suffolk County Jewish-American Person of Distinction. The other comes from Long Island Business News, which proclaimed Aaron Futterman a 2026 Health and Healthcare Law Influencer.
Jewish American of Distinction in Suffolk County
The Jewish-American of Distinction award announcement happened in May, which was Jewish-American Heritage Month. Legislator Leslie Kennedy of New York’s 12th Legislative District, which contains Suffolk County, presented Aaron with an official county proclamation. Aaron and other honorees were recognized for their exceptional contributions to the community through their work and volunteer efforts. This year Legislator Kennedy chose Aaron for his work helping families on Long Island navigate critical matters like estate planning, Medicaid planning, elder law, and special needs planning and our deep rooted commitment to the local community, the kind of legal support Aaron has practiced for over 25 years.
“Aaron Futterman’s unwavering commitment to service, legal excellence, and guiding families through life’s critical transitions reflects the very best of our community,” Legislator Kennedy’s office said in a statement.
The Long Island Business News Influencer award recognizes Aaron’s achievements successfully counseling his clients in a world where estate planning and elder law are becoming increasingly complex. Issues like the privacy of medical data and intense regulation of Medicaid/Medicare compliance have made the services of an attorney who understands long-term care law more critical than ever. It is the second consecutive year that the Business News has awarded Aaron.
